“Adrian, nock it off, you just fed not 20 minutes ago.” Julian said putting a hand on Adrian’s shoulder. Adrian turned his head to look at Julian.
“Aww, c’mon! I’m still hungryyy!” Adrian whined. Karin was getting pissed at this. He was going to eat her in a manor of speaking. Hell no, she wasn’t going to allow this. Karin opened he mouth at Adrian’s arm, with which he was holding her, and bit him as hard as she could. Adrian slightly gasped, because he was surprised at Karin’s actions. He raised his right arm and was about to hit Karin’s neck to make her pass out but at the last second Kristie stood in between both of them and caught his hand. She glared daggers at him and Adrian back at her. Julian wasn’t doing much of anything. He was actually kind of enjoying the scrap, the girls seemed to be able to protect themselves and if Adrian did anything drastic, then Julian would step in, especially if he did something to Karin.
“Don’t just stand their watching idiot! Run!” Kristie yelled towards Karin who was a blank. She finally came to, and yanked her arm away from Adrian’s. He was even more pissed now, than ever. Kristie let go of Adrian’s arm and jetted to Karin.
“Please, you two can’t get away from me!” Adrian said jumping high in the air and then landing in front of Karin and Kristie. The girls stopped. Karin gritted her teeth and clenched her fists. She turned her head to where Julian was, but now wasn’t. He had disappeared. Karin gasped and motioned for Kristie to look around for him. Kristie did, but saw nothing.
“Think of a plan, think of a plan!” Karin thought looking around even more. Then it hit her. “Kristie… split up!” She yelled, and immidiotly ran to her left. Kristie nodded quickly and ran to her right. Julian sighed.
“Hmmm, which one should I go after first? They’re blood both smell delicious, but…” Adrian said and then smirked, jumping into the air once again. Karin panted, as she ran around several cars and trucks. There were plenty so she didn’t have to worry about finding a hiding place. She could just crawl under one.
“Man I hope Kristie’s smart enough to do that!” Karin thought making a perturbed face. She was just about to turn the corner of a tall truck when something tackled her. She thought the worst, and she was right. It was Adrian. Karin and Adrian fell to the hard ground, with Adrian on top of Karin. He held her wrist’s down with his hands so she couldn’t move. As much as she struggled, it was no use. Adrian smirked and showed his fangs. Karin was about to scream when suddenly Adrian was knocked off of her. It seemed to Karin he was kicked in the side, but she didn’t see anyone to her side. She quickly stood up and looked around.
“Karin! You’re ok!” Kristie said from behind Karin. Karin quickly turned around a bit afraid but then lightened herself. Karin looked at Adrian who was lying on the ground. Could a kick from a girl really be that harmful?
“Kristie, did you-“ She started but stopped and shook her head “No, question’s later. We have to go now, before he feels better!” Karin said softly but sternly. Kristie nodded and they both started to run. What they didn’t know was that someone was following them the whole way back to Karin’s apartment.
Karin and Kristie burst through Karin’s apartment door and fell onto the floor panting. Karin used her foot to slam the door shut. Her panting subsided but she was still apprehensive. She stood up and walked into her kitchen, getting two glasses and pouring water into them.
“Im, never… taking that short cut… again!” Kristie said crawling onto Karin’s couch, lying on her stomach.
“I am.” Karin said bringing out the two glasses of water, and handing one to Kristie.
“Whaaaa? Why?” Kristie asked with wide eyes. Karin plopped down on the couch, opposite where Kristie was, and sighed.
“I want to go back, even if they were… vampire’s. I want to… “ Karin started but stopped in her tracks. Karin wouldn’t normally go back, if it was up to her, but something was compelling her to go. “Who saved me?” Karin thought “Hey, Kristie. Did you… did you save me… yanno, when Adrian was about to bite me?” Karin asked. Kristie gave a confused look, and set her glass on the side table next to the couch, and then sat up.
“Um, no. When I found you, Adrian was lying on the ground.” Kristie said, while giving Karin a worried look. Karin starred down at the floor, he glass in her hands. She felt the cold rime on the outer glass running down her hand.
“If Kristie didn’t save me, then who did? I swear I didn’t see anyone.” Karin thought. She sighed and put the glass to her lips and finished her drink. “Julian… was it him? He was the only other involved in that scene.” Kristie yawned and looked at the clock, which read, 10:13PM.
“Im going to bed, it’s been one hell of a day.” Kristie stood up and waved as she left for her/guest room. Karin took both glasses and brought them to her kitchen. She set them down in the sink and told herself she would clean them tomorrow. Karin leaned her back against the sink counter.
“It’s not even that late… I’m going back… tonight!” Karin thought, narrowing her eyebrows. She walked to her room across from Kristie’s/the guest room. She stripped down, out of her jeans and tight black tee shirt, and slipped into a bluish, gray dress. It had sleeves and went down just above her knees. She only wore this for special occasion or if she was going to do some ‘undercover work’. In this case, she was going to try and spy on the vampires. If it wasn’t mission impossible, she would be there and back in no more than an hour, but it wasn’t. Karin turned her light off and headed out her door. She peaked her head into Kristie’s room to see if she was asleep yet. Of coarse she was. Kristie always fell asleep in 10 minutes. Karin walked through the kitchen and into the living room. She got a note pad and a pencil and then wrote,
“I’m went out for a while after you went to sleep, I’ll be back later.
Karin”
She then set the note down on the coffee table and left out the door.
Karin was waking around for a while in the abandoned schoolyard, and she hadn’t sensed anything out of the ordinary. Karin was getting tired of looking; she had circled the school several times for about a half hour, but nothing. She sighed and started climbing on a truck. When she got to the top she looked around her again, and still nothing. She frowned a looked up at the dark night sky. The wind picked up and her hair and dress caught it. They blew to her side in a beautiful way. Karin’s sinuses picked up in an instant and she brought her hands to her mouth and let out a loud sneeze.
“Bless you.” A familiar but angry sounding voice said from behind Karin. Her eyes widened and she turned around faced with… Julian. Karin’s body had various shivers, from the cold wind hitting her smooth legs and arms. “You’re Karin, if I remember, right?” He spoke inching closer to her. Karin didn’t want to respond but she knew she had to.
“Yes, I am.” Was all she simply said, Karin stepped backwards as Julian stepped forward, each time further to the back of the truck. Karin’s stopped when she finally reached the back of the truck. She ad an emotionless face, though Julian’s was slightly irritated. “Where you the-“ Karin started but was interrupted when Julian suddenly spoke.
“I saved you from my brother.” Karin gasped slightly and narrowed her eyebrows a bit. Julian had absolute no reason to save her. Why would he care about a girl he met not even 2 hours ago?
“Why, though? What reason would you possibly have for saving someone you literally just met?” Karin asked, testing her foot on the edge, seeing if she had more room. Julian noticed this but didn’t do anything about it. “Tell me why?” Julian kept silence; his facial expression hadn’t changed even the slightest.
“It’s your blood that makes me want more.” He said simply, Karin made a slightly confused look. “I never drink it unless it’s necessary, but whenever I’m near you, my blood stirs up, and it makes me want more… it makes me snap. I have to find out why and you’re not going anywhere until I find out why.” Julian said and quickly moved his hand behind Karin’s waist pulled to his body, his lips against hers. Karin’s body tensed up. She tried to pull away but it was hard to resist. His lips were soft and sweet, so she caved in and pressed her lips slightly on his. Suddenly Karin felt as if she couldn’t hold herself up. She broke the kiss and started to fall back. She would have fell off the truck if Julian hadn’t caught her.
“He… must have drugged me…” Were Karin’s last thoughts before she closed her eyes and blacked out. Julian starred at her before picking her up bridal style and jumped off.
Karin’s eyes slowly opened, and she tried to move but when she did her arms could only move so far away from her body. They were chained up above her head in shackles, and so were her ankles. She still felt groggy, but she managed to sit up on her knees. She looked around and saw she was in some sort of basement. It was very decorative and not at all dirty. The only flaw was that the cement floor was hard and cold. It seemed to be someone’s room, because what she saw was a dresser wardrobe, a bed. The only light in the room was a candle on the opposite side of the room on a small table next to the bed. But in the darkest corner of the room Karin squinted her eyes and she swore she saw some sort of, coffin? Yes, it was. Suddenly Karin heard footsteps coming from the top of the stairs, in fast thinking, Karin closed her eyes and pretended she was asleep. As Karin’s eyes were closed she felt the presence of whoever walked in, kneel down and lift up her chin. Karin was very convincing for a fake sleeper. Suddenly she felt something, kiss her lips. Something soft… and sweet.
“Aww, c’mon! I’m still hungryyy!” Adrian whined. Karin was getting pissed at this. He was going to eat her in a manor of speaking. Hell no, she wasn’t going to allow this.
