“Ah – choo! Eww.” Karin said looking at her hands and then wiping the feeling of sneeze on her black jeans.
“You sick or something, Karin?” Kristie asked while smirking. She sat upon a tree branch with her legs crossed, she rested am elbow on her left leg holding her chin.
“Eh, I don’t know.” Karin said sniffling and standing up, from the grass. Karin and Kristie, best friends since kindergarten. The past month they had graduated collage and set out on their own. Karin lived in a very nice apartment, that didn’t have much rent since the landlord didn’t ask for much. She was a nice lady, she was somewhere around her 80’s, but she was also very healthy.
Kristie herself was going to move into her new apartment in a few days. Til’ then she was staying with Karin.
Karin looked up at the gray, dark sky. She didn’t mind it, Karin enjoyed days like this. And they always matched her outfit. Karin usually wore black or dark colors. She prefers to wear them, and everyone says dark colors look good on her. Kristie liked much any color on her, especially white and black combo.
“I think it’s going to rain, maybe we should go back?” Karin insisted, turning her head to Kristie, who had jumped out of the tree at Karin’s words.
“Why? I like the rain?” Kristie whined putting her hands on her hips and sticking out her lower lip, while Karin sighed.
“Because, if I am sick, it’ll get worse, and also if I left you here I’d be asleep by the time you got home, and you know I wouldn’t wake up to answer the door for you. Now let’s go.” Karin said putting her hands in her pockets and started walking. Kristie didn’t say anything further, but sighed and followed after Karin.
Kristie and Karin were walking in back of a field of an old, abandoned school. It was a short cut to get to Karin’s apartment, so they almost always use it, since no one’s ever around. There were old swings, slides, playgrounds, etc, but they were all rusty or broken down. One of them broke, when Kristie tried to sit on the swing and it broke on her. There were also a few cars and trucks parked there, but they were abandoned as well. Kristie and Karin would often climb on top of them for fun if they were bored. Feeling uneasy, Karin kept looking around, searching for anything, or anyone who might be around. Kristie was also feeling uneasy and kept a fist to her chest.
“Hey… Karin? Do… Do you get the feeling like-“Kristie started but was interrupted by Karin.
“We’re being watched.” Karin said sternly. She already knew someone was watching them. Even if they were the feistiest girls you would ever meet, there were more dangerous beings than them. “Hurry and lets go.” Karin whispered turning her head to Kristie but keeping her eyes on everything around. They started to run across the field and hurry home. Karin was in front of Kristie, which was actually a good thing. When Karin turned the corner, something in her body made her right arm reflex and swing it around the truck they were about to turn the corner. Karin’s eyes widened a bit when her arm had been stopped by a being, holding her arm in his left hand. He had dirty blonde hair, much like Kristie’s and his dark red eyes glistened as he eyed, Karin. There was another guy next to this one. He had pitch, black hair and dark red eyes also. He had no emotion on his face and looked as calm as if nothing were happening.
“Hey, you’re pretty sharp there to have noticed we were hiding over here.” He spoke, his voice sending chills down Kristie’s spine. He smirked and looked at Kristie. She flinched at how dark and pale he was, she noticed he had his eyes on her so she spoke up and said
“What are you looking at?!” She snapped, making him grin instead of smirking. He inched closer to them, not taking his hand off of Karin’s arm. Karin’s muscles tensed up, as she felt his body heat coming closer to her. She tried to pull her arm away from him but it wasn’t helpful. It just made him grip her harder, making her squint her eyes slightly.
“So, what might two beautiful ladies be doing in a run down place like this, hmm?” He asked smirking only slightly so Karin and Kristie couldn’t see his teeth all the way. Karin was uneasy, she didn’t want to talk to these guy’s but of coarse little miss, in your face, had to say something.
“This is a short cut to our house! Why do you want to know?! Just who the hell are you two?!” Kristie blurted out yelling at the blonde. Karin sighed; the blonde laughed a bit, and unknowingly loosened his grip on Karin. Meanwhile the other guy, who had the black hair, had not taken his eyes off of Karin.
"This girl... there's something different about her. It makes me want to... “ The black hair’s thoughts were interrupted when, blonde said something.
“I am Adrian Belvidere.” The blonde, Adrian said, and then pointed to the blackie. “This is my brother, Julian Belvidere… but back to business” Adrian said waking his grin off his face and making it a serious face. Karin slightly gasped when Adrian took a hold of her chin and moved his face a bit closer to hers. He opened his mouth wide, and Kristie gasped. Adrian had two massive canine fangs, that were seemingly, as sharp as a knife.
“What? Is this… is this really happening?!” Karin thought. Her whole body had tensed up now, she thought she had been dreaming but she knew she wasn’t. Kristie was frozen in her spot, she didn’t know what to do. There was no way she could fight them, she’d probably die or get bitten. She had to say something to throw off Adrian’s attention to Karin so she managed to blurt out.
“Y-you two are… vampires?!”
